Loving the details so much! Had to take him out of the box. XD
Thank you Kramer’s Toy Warden!
After months of hunting them (at SRP), finally completed the Guns n Roses set:
Thank you GeekPH and Filbar’s for selling them at SRP!!! 🙂
ToyCon! It’s one of the most awaited events by toy collectors in the Philippines every year. It was held at SMX Convention Center (SM Mall of Asia) last week, June 30, 2017 (Friday) to July 2, 2017 (Sunday). There were several guess stars during the 3-day event:
A lot of my fellow collectors from Funko Funatic Philippines and Pop Til’ You Drop bought pops such as Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Altair (Cas Anvar), Rita Repulsa (Carla Perez), etc. for autograph signing! I was able to see Greg Cipes! (voice actor of Beast Boy from Teen Titans)
ToyCon also had a LOT of stalls offering good deals and cool toys exclusive only in the event. If you would explore the area, there is an enormous amount of Funko Pops! I think about 70% of the stalls are selling them. Definitely a heaven for us Funko Pop collectors!
Since I had work on Friday and Sunday, I was only able to come on Saturday. Upon arriving at SMoA, there was a line for those who paid the tickets already. It was a shorter line compared to those who hasn’t bought a ticket yet. (Phew!) And then, once I entered the convention area, I had to pick among two directions: left (the stalls aka le heaven!) and right (Pop Life booth, concert area, etc). Of course, I had to check the stalls first even though I had to check the ToyCon 2017 Funko Pop exclusives at the Pop Life booth. xD
I actually made a wishlist of what I wanted to hunt/buy in the event (too bad I threw it away.) It ended up unused, because there were a lot of awesome deals and I couldn’t resist. GeekPH, one of my favorite Funko shops, posted this irresistible deal:
If you saw my previous blog post of the pictures of my collection room, you would see that I have two of those deco lights: Captain America and Iron Man. Of course, my avengers would need company so I bought two: Thor’s hammer and Hulk for P750. I also wanted to buy the Star Wars deco lights, but I had to save my remaining money for Funko Pops! They’re my priority! ;D
I also bought a lot of 2 for P500 pops from various shops: Thank you Hobbiestock (Plus Director Coulson with Lola ride for only P1,000!), Kramer’s Toy Warden, GeekPH and Toy Bucks!
I also visited some of my friends from Filbar’s (Shoutout to sir Hero, maam Cathy, etc), and bought a Taz chase with a very sulit price of P1,295 (with 10% member discount).
Then, I also visited Bully Boy Collectibles to see my friends (Shoutout to maam April and maam Lyn). I bought 3 regular priced pops (Jimi Hendrix, Joey Ramone and Catdog) from them so that I could try my luck in their wheel of fortune! (Yes, you only have to buy 3 regular pops to play the game). Upon spinning the wheel, I hoped to get a chase, but I got a Dorbz instead. I had to pick one from their Dorbz section and luckily, I found a Naruto Dorbz! I’ve always wanted one ever since it came out. So cute!
I was carrying a LOT of pops, and the place was very crowded. It’s so hard to protect the pops while shopping LOL. So, I had to rent a locker for P150. (I regret doing it by the way, since they did not take good care of my Aquaman (Patina) pop; it got damaged 😦 Huhu) Afterwards, I had to rush to the Pop Life booth just in case the exclusives gets sold out fast. I made it there in time and all the day 2 exclusives are all in stock for only P500 each.
The day 2 exclusives were: CosX Fan pops, Black Aswang, Metallic Mario Maurer, Hiddy (Joker), Flocked Pooh, Monkey King (Sunrise), Guanyu Po, and Astro Boy (Half Robotic). I was able to buy everything except Momo and Hiddy (since I already have them), and Monkey King (I didn’t know it was a new version and I regret not buying it!). Monkey King and Guanyu Po was sold out in only a few hours!
We were about to go, but I had to check the stalls one last time. Luckily I found a rare pop ride: Merryn with S.S. Eirnin for only P1,100!
There were also a lot of cool displays in the event. I took a few pictures:
Overall, it was awesome! I had a great time. It was very worth it. A lot of new addition to my Funko Pop collection. I also met several friends during my stay in the event. Here is my overall ToyCon 2017 hauls:
If you would like to see more photos and videos from the event, check out the ToyCon PH 2017 FB page!
When I was a child, my planet, Krypton, was dying. I was sent to Earth to protect my cousin. But my pod got knocked off-course, and by the time I got here, my cousin had already grown up and become Superman. And so, I hid my powers, until recently when an accident forced me to reveal myself to the world. To most people, I am an assistant at CatCo Worldwide Media. But in secret, I work with my adoptive sister for the D.E.O. to protect my city from alien life and anyone else that means to cause it harm. I am Supergirl.
So, Arrow (DC TV), Flash (DC TV) and Legends of Tomorrow (DC TV) got their Funko line. We are still waiting for the Supergirl (DC TV) line! 😦 I’m hoping this line will include Supergirl (with suit), Kara Danvers (without her suit), Alex Danvers, and Martian. So far, Funko created her mystery mini and rock candy versions. So probably, she will have her Funko Pop version in the future!
I didn’t get a chance to greet all dads yesterday, so belated Happy Father’s Day from my favorite anime pop (who is apparently a *SPOILER* dad now! lol) 🙂 🙂 🙂
Sharing my hauls for this week:
Marvel and Star Wars subscription boxes from Kiko Toys:
Thank you sir Francis Ava! I used my second display case to display the 2-pack:
For my other hauls:
Thank you sir Jerome Collado for leading the Harry Potter group buy! Finally got my Bellatrix prisoner variant! Thank you Filbar’s Megamall for the PPG set and Demiguise. Finally found a SRP Demiguise! Only a few more HP exclusives until I complete the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts lines!!!
And finally, thank you Bully Boy Ph for the awesome looking glow-in-the-dark ringwraith!
Additionally, I also bought these cute minions and Agnes (plus Fluffy) from McDonald’s!
Aaaand that is all! Good night!!! ^_^
I didn’t have any posts last week because I was in a 1-week vacation trip in Japan with my family! 😀 The people in Japan were very polite, kind and respectful.
We stayed in Shinjuku, Tokyo. We also travelled to other places in Tokyo such as Akihabara, Shibuya, and Tama.
Of course, my first priority is to hunt for Funko Pops! ;D On our 2nd day, I went to the well-known toy shop that sells Funko Pops in Japan: Toy Sapiens!
This place is simply a heaven! I saw a lot of hard-to-find and exclusive pops at a good price. If only transporting them to Philippines isn’t a struggle, I would haul a lot! I went to this place twice because one haul is never enough at Toy Sapiens! xD
I also saw some Funkos in other stores such as Don Quijote:
and several stores in Akihabara:
(There are a LOT of life size groot pops here! 😦 I wanted one ever since it came out huhuhu) Here are my overall hauls from Japan!
11 Funko Pops, Arrow S1 DVD (for my Green Arrow collection), Dragon Ball stuff, Gudetama slippers, and a lot of Gacha items (not in the picture). Some of you might be wondering if the price sticker from Toy Sapiens is easy to remove (especially for OC in-box collectors like me):
The answer is yes. It’s very easy to remove and it won’t damage the box. But in my case, I don’t want to remove the stickers on my pops. 🙂
Here are some other photos from our trip:
Favorite Food: CURRY! I loved their version of curry!
Favorite Place: Akihabara. Very nice place! A heaven for anime lovers!
And, that is all. Have a nice day everyone!
Harry Potter! One of my main Funko Pop collections.
Let me just, provide a little light here.
Ah, there we go!
I’m still missing 5 exclusives from the Harry Potter line. As for the Fantastic Beasts line, I’m missing the regular Demiguise and 4 exclusives. Basically, I need 10 more pops. 😦 I’m still thinking about buying the 3-pack and 2-packs.
Fellow potterhead, I hear you want to start collecting Harry Potter pops. Fear not! I have a few tips for you! 😀
1.) Harry Potter has a LOT of variants/exclusives
9 to be exact. 10 if you are counting Harry riding the Hogwarts train. Some characters have around 2-3 variants. If you are going to collect one pop for each character, then it won’t be much of a problem for you. There are 25 characters for the Harry Potter line and 8 characters for Fantastic Beasts line.
2.) Dementor army?
For an oob (out of box) collector, a dementor army would look so good in your collection!
3.) SDCC HP Pops
These SDCC (San Diego Comic Con) HP Pops were way cheaper when they were released last year. And they are starting to get more expensive. I regret not buying that SDCC Newt before! 😦
I really could use a Time Turner right now! 😦
*It should be noted that the 3-pack Cornish Pixie, Mandrake and Grindylow is the smallest pop in the set! 🙂
4.) 2-packs and 3-pack
These 3-pack and 2-packs are EXACTLY the same as the regular ones. If you will be aiming for a complete Harry Potter Funko Pop collection, don’t forget getting these! 🙂
5.) The only 6-inch HP Pop
Hagrid. One of our favorite characters!
6.) Coming Soon HP Pops
There are currently a total of 58 Harry Pops (including the 3-pack and 2-packs).
But guess what, there are upcoming releases for the Harry Potter line!
Oh Lord Voldemort (oops, shouldn’t have said that. I should not have said that!). And here I am, still not finished with the current set. I cri.
7.) Hogwarts Express Ride
I absolutely love the Hogwarts Express set! These three parts can be assembled together:
It would look so good if you display it oob!
That’s basically it. Harry Potter is not a “suicide” line such as Star Wars and Disney, for example. In my opinion, the SDCC ones are the only hard-to-get Harry Potter pops so far. Better to start this collection now before they get vaulted. 😉
That is all. See ya! (Slytherin ftw)
