Hi guys! How’s your SDCC (San Diego Comic Con) pop hunt going? I’m prioritizing the Star Wars and Harry Potter (my main lines) SDCC exclusive pops. So far, I was able to get my pre-ordered GITD Snoke last week:
Along with the rare GITD Qui Gon Jinn! Thank you so much John Michael Bunyi for these! Still waiting for my pre-ordered 2-pack holographic Leia with R2D2, Harry Potter, and Luna Lovegood. 🙂
P.S. Also waiting for my Twilight pop set to be delivered tomorrow which will hit my pop count to 700! *excited*
Hi guys! My family and I went to Korea last week (July 6 – July 10) to escort my cousin to her summer school (CUK Global Summer School 2017) at Gyeonggi-do. The rest of us stayed in Seoul, Korea for 4 days.
*For this blog, there won’t be anything about Funko Pops. Sadly, I didn’t find any Funko Pops during our stay. 😦 (Or maybe they’re very rare in Korea?) Although I hauled a lot of awesome toys and collectibles for my collection room! 😀
Our place was near to the shopping places. If you plan to travel in Korea, Myeongdong, Seoul is a MUST see placeif you love shopping. There is a LOT of stores selling items in affordable prices. Most of the stores are selling beauty products (my mom hauled a lot lol). If you are into beauty products, you will definitely love this place. Of course, my focus was hunting any collectible items for my room.
I recently got drawn into watching k-drama. The first k-drama that I watched, Goblin, was a very well made series. I loved the plot and everything. Then my cousin suggested Weightlifting Fairy (my favorite k-drama so far by the way). Now, I’m currently watching Descendants of the Sun. There were a lot of k-drama merchandises in the underground markets (also a MUST see place). These were my k-drama hauls:
I also bought my first Popobes:
I’ve seen them before online. They are very popular in Korea. Couldn’t resist the cute spideys and Toy Story Popobes! xD
There was also a LINE store in Myeongdong:
Very cute products. Bought this figure:
Here are some of my hauls from various shops such as Artbox (A LOT of awesome stuff in here!), mini stalls, etc.:
There was also a newly opened 8-floor Daiso near our place in Seoul:
If you are looking for very cheap yet good quality items, this is the place! Here are my hauls from Daiso:
Used the display cases for these:
By the way, if you are a k-pop fan, Seoul is definitely a heaven for you! My cousin is a k-pop fan, and she hauled a LOT. A lot of k-pop merchandises were given for free (or for buying things for a certain amount of won) in beauty product stores during our stay. There were also other k-pop merchandises being sold in the underground markets such as keychains, tumblers, posters, pillows, etc.
In terms of food, there were a lot of delicious food in Seoul. Since I LOVE spicy food, their food was a paradise for me. Almost everything is spicy! ❤ My favorite food was the spicy cheese noodles:
Very delicious and extremely spicy. Bought them for 1k won each at Daiso.
The next time we go back, we will definitely travel to the other places in Korea! 😀
Here are more pictures from our trip!
During our stay in the Hong Kong airport (because there was no direct flight available), I also bought my first Hot Toys Cosbaby:
Spider-man cosbaby! Very awesome.
Now that I’m back in the Philippines, Funko Pop hunting time!!! 😀
ToyCon! It’s one of the most awaited events by toy collectors in the Philippines every year. It was held at SMX Convention Center (SM Mall of Asia) last week, June 30, 2017 (Friday) to July 2, 2017 (Sunday). There were several guess stars during the 3-day event:
A lot of my fellow collectors from Funko Funatic Philippines and Pop Til’ You Drop bought pops such as Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Altair (Cas Anvar), Rita Repulsa (Carla Perez), etc. for autograph signing! I was able to see Greg Cipes! (voice actor of Beast Boy from Teen Titans)
ToyCon also had a LOT of stalls offering good deals and cool toys exclusive only in the event. If you would explore the area, there is an enormous amount of Funko Pops! I think about 70% of the stalls are selling them. Definitely a heaven for us Funko Pop collectors!
Since I had work on Friday and Sunday, I was only able to come on Saturday. Upon arriving at SMoA, there was a line for those who paid the tickets already. It was a shorter line compared to those who hasn’t bought a ticket yet. (Phew!) And then, once I entered the convention area, I had to pick among two directions: left (the stalls aka le heaven!) and right (Pop Life booth, concert area, etc). Of course, I had to check the stalls first even though I had to check the ToyCon 2017 Funko Pop exclusives at the Pop Life booth. xD
I actually made a wishlist of what I wanted to hunt/buy in the event (too bad I threw it away.) It ended up unused, because there were a lot of awesome deals and I couldn’t resist. GeekPH, one of my favorite Funko shops, posted this irresistible deal:
If you saw my previous blog post of the pictures of my collection room, you would see that I have two of those deco lights: Captain America and Iron Man. Of course, my avengers would need company so I bought two: Thor’s hammer and Hulk for P750. I also wanted to buy the Star Wars deco lights, but I had to save my remaining money for Funko Pops! They’re my priority! ;D
I also bought a lot of 2 for P500 pops from various shops: Thank you Hobbiestock (Plus Director Coulson with Lola ride for only P1,000!), Kramer’s Toy Warden, GeekPH and Toy Bucks!
I also visited some of my friends from Filbar’s (Shoutout to sir Hero, maam Cathy, etc), and bought a Taz chase with a very sulit price of P1,295 (with 10% member discount).
Then, I also visited Bully Boy Collectibles to see my friends (Shoutout to maam April and maam Lyn). I bought 3 regular priced pops (Jimi Hendrix, Joey Ramone and Catdog) from them so that I could try my luck in their wheel of fortune! (Yes, you only have to buy 3 regular pops to play the game). Upon spinning the wheel, I hoped to get a chase, but I got a Dorbz instead. I had to pick one from their Dorbz section and luckily, I found a Naruto Dorbz! I’ve always wanted one ever since it came out. So cute!
I was carrying a LOT of pops, and the place was very crowded. It’s so hard to protect the pops while shopping LOL. So, I had to rent a locker for P150. (I regret doing it by the way, since they did not take good care of my Aquaman (Patina) pop; it got damaged 😦 Huhu) Afterwards, I had to rush to the Pop Life booth just in case the exclusives gets sold out fast. I made it there in time and all the day 2 exclusives are all in stock for only P500 each.
The day 2 exclusives were: CosX Fan pops, Black Aswang, Metallic Mario Maurer, Hiddy (Joker), Flocked Pooh, Monkey King (Sunrise), Guanyu Po, and Astro Boy (Half Robotic). I was able to buy everything except Momo and Hiddy (since I already have them), and Monkey King (I didn’t know it was a new version and I regret not buying it!). Monkey King and Guanyu Po was sold out in only a few hours!
We were about to go, but I had to check the stalls one last time. Luckily I found a rare pop ride: Merryn with S.S. Eirnin for only P1,100!
There were also a lot of cool displays in the event. I took a few pictures:
Overall, it was awesome! I had a great time. It was very worth it. A lot of new addition to my Funko Pop collection. I also met several friends during my stay in the event. Here is my overall ToyCon 2017 hauls:
